Reflecting back on when you started your career, were you ever formally taught the skills to succeed in a professional environment? I personally wasn’t. I was nervous, sweaty, and didn’t know where to turn. But finding myself in a unique circumstance where I would sink or swim, I figured it out quickly.
This prowess led to my building the first social media department within the largest global communications group at the age of 24, landing me not only a seat, but a respected voice at the table with executives from some of the largest brands in the world.
Over the last 20 years I’ve continued to see students enter the workforce with no idea of how to write an effective email (and now, how to properly leverage AI), build & share a strong idea, cultivate meaningful relationships and beyond. And with COVID’s impact on socialization, these skills are more important than ever.
This foundation is the difference between talent being just “okay” to creating next level thinkers, creators and drivers of growth.
